The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center is also
open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.

to hear and see Ms. Amanda Dobey from Elegant Creations work her
magic with "Wreath Creations." No reservation necessary.
Legal aid
schedule change
There are a few appointments available
for Friday, Sept. 26. Please call 732-6132 to schedule an
appointment. The next available appointments will be on Oct. 23
between 9 a.m. and noon.
Memories
No reservation is necessary to learn
how to save those special family memories. Join Rebecca Johnson at
3:45 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26.

Pick up your prepaid food order Friday,
Sept. 26, between 4 and 5:30 p.m. You may also place an order for
October. The cost is $15 for the basic package of food. The Self
Help and Resource Exchange program is sponsored by the Diocese of
Peoria, and The Oasis is the host site. Stop in for more
information.
Springfield pinochle challenge
Call 732-6132 before noon Monday, Sept.
29, to make a reservation for lunch and cards. The Tuesday, Sept.
30, pinochle challenge starts at 10 a.m. A lunch of baked ham, peas,
salad, bread and butter will be served at 11:30 a.m. Cost of cards
and lunch is only $3.
What
happens when the money runs out?
A special information session is being
sponsored by Maple Ridge Care Centre. Janet Knoll of First Health
Care Associates will be at The Oasis on Monday, Sept. 29, from 4 to
5:30 p.m. to provide up-to-date information about "Medicaid and
Medicare: The Inside Story."

Space is available in the Computer
Basics class Oct. 6-10 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. and the Word
Processing class Oct. 20-24 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Call 732-6132
for a reservation. The fee is $15 for members and $18 for
nonmembers.
Taylorville takes the trophy
Taylorville Senior Center challenged
The Oasis pinochle players to a Sept. 16 tournament. Taylorville won
by 1,240 points.
Game
winners
Weekly and weekend winners were Bernie
Haley, Linda Hughes and Esther Will for pinochle; Tom Garrison for 5
in 1; and Alice Thornton for pool.
