[APRIL 13, 2004]
The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also
is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.
Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and
trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Oasis
potluck and bingo
Come join us at 11:30 p.m. Thursday
for the monthly potluck lunch featuring ham and scalloped pineapple
with au gratin potatoes, special dishes, and lots of desserts.
Seniors are invited to bring a dish to pass or a $3 donation.
The senior center will sponsor the
weekly bingo games, beginning at 1 p.m. Come join an afternoon of
fun and surprises. Bring a friend!
April's
birthday party
Birthday time! Monday at 1:30 p.m.
it's time to celebrate your April birthday with us. There will be
games, prizes, entertainment, and cake and ice cream. Come join the
fun and bring a guest!
Tuesday's
lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for April 19
will feature breaded pork tenderloin, potatoes, salad, bread and
butter, dessert, and a drink for only $3.75. The cost is $3.25 if
you stay and play cards. Ticket purchase deadline is noon Monday.

food is coming March 22
Self Help and Resource Exchange food
orders may be picked up between 4 and 5:30 p.m. March 22. May orders
may also be placed then. The Catholic Diocese of Peoria sponsors the
program, which is open to everyone, regardless of faith, age or
income.
Card
winners announced
Alice Thornton and Eleanor Barton
were weekday winners for pinochle. Weekend pinochle winners were
Marjorie Reiners and Eleanor Barton. The winners for five-in-one
were Bernie DePuy and Judy Morrow.
