The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Maple Ridge to sponsor bingo
Maple Ridge Care Centre will sponsor the bingo games that begin
at 1 p.m. Thursday at The Oasis. Come join the fun and win a prize.
Need help with insurance forms?
The Oasis and the Senior Health Insurance Program sponsor
insurance form assistance for seniors. The volunteers are trained by
the Department of Insurance to guide you through problems involving
Medicare, Medicare supplements, long-term care insurance, retiree
health plans, claims processing and appealing denied claims.
Have a limited income?
Social Security can help with Medicare prescription costs. Find
out if you are eligible. Attend the workshop at The Oasis on Monday
from 10 a.m. till noon. No reservations necessary.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for Aug. 9 will feature pork steak,
stuffing, salad, bread and butter, dessert, and a drink for only
$3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play cards. Ticket deadline is noon
Monday.
VA rep to visit Oasis
A Veterans Administration representative will be available at the
senior center from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. No appointments
necessary. Service is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Winners for the week announced
Linda Hughes, Mina Bradburn and Les Van Bibber were weekend
pinochle winners. Linda Hughes and Alice Petro were weekday pinochle
winners.
