LINCOLN -- John J. Lambert, 94, died Tuesday, Aug. 2,
2005, at 12:35 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lincoln
Christian Church, with Tim Searby officiating. Visitation
will be at the church one hour before the service, and
military rites at the church will follow the service.
Burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, Taylorville.
Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mr. Lambert retired in 1976 from U.S. Corrugated Box
Company, where he was a layout printer.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was born April 6, 1911, in Taylorville to Louis and
Isabelle Wilson Lambert. He married Virginia May Disney on
June 2, 1934, in Springfield. She survives.
He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Three brothers preceded him in death.
He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church and American
Legion Post 263.
Memorials may be made to Lincoln Christian Church,
Lincoln Christian College or St. Clara's Manor.

LINCOLN -- Clifton E. "Whitey" Whiteman , 74, died
Sunday, July 31, 2005, at 6:30 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care
Centre.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral
will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial, with military rites, will be in New Union
Cemetery.
Mr. Whiteman retired from Pierce Glass Co. in 1986 as a
packer.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was born July 15, 1931, in Lincoln to Clifton A. and
Mamie P. Huskins Whiteman. He married Lucille Underwood on
May 9, 1953, at Waynesville.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; one daughter,
Marsha Dalla Valle (and Bill Greenwood) of Lincoln; two
sons, Rick (and Sue) Whiteman of Lincoln and Randy (and
Diana) Whiteman of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Steven
Michael Whiteman; one grandson, Randy J. Whiteman; and one
sister, Ethel. He was the last of his immediate family.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society,
American Diabetes Association or Hospice Care of Illinois.
