LINCOLN -- William F. Webster Jr., 90, of Lincoln, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at 5:15 a.m. at the Christian Village Nursing Home in Lincoln.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. R. Anthony Lee officiating.

No visitation is scheduled.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln.

Peasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Webster retired from Cilco as a dispatcher.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was born July 20, 1915, in Lincoln to William F. and Theresa Schmid Webster. He married Mildred Montgomery on March 17, 1939. She died Oct. 25, 1993.

He is survived by his three children, Linda (and David) Buchanan of Lincoln, Bill (and Barb Leacher) Webster of Lincoln and Kathy (and Kenny) Robinson of Springfield; two sisters, Gini (and Ed) Higgins of Lincoln and Clarice Rohrer of Glendale, Ariz.; one brother, R.K. Webster of Austin, Texas; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln, a lifetime member of Knights of Columbus Council 1250 for 71 years and a 3rd degree knight, and a member of American Legion Post 263.

He graduated from St. Mary’s Grade School in 1929 and from Lincoln High School in 1932.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation or the Christian Village Nursing Home.

George Ubbenga

LINCOLN -- George M. Ubbenga, 83, of Lincoln, formerly of Hartsburg, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at 7:30 a.m. at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bennett Funeral Home, with Bill Shanle officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service time at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.

Mr. Ubbenga retired from dairy farming in 1989.

He was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Hartsburg to Henry and Rena Klockenga Ubbenga. He married Mildred Shelton on May 24, 1947, and she preceded him in death in 1968. He married Norma Jean Koehler on Oct. 24, 1970, and she died April 18, 2005.

He is survived by three stepchildren, Jennifer Diers (and husband Jay) of Springfield, Connie Buckles of Lincoln and Steve Letterle (and wife Carrie) of Las Cruces, N.M.; two brothers, Leo Ubbenga (and wife Gladys) of Hartsburg and Robert Ubbenga (and wife Joyce) of Hartsburg; a sister, Catherine Apel of Atlanta; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Holland.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
