The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also
is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.
Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Extension
to sponsor bingo
The Logan County Extension Unit will
sponsor the Thursday bingo games, which begin at 1 p.m. at the
senior center. Nutritious prizes! Come join the fun!
Alzheimer
support group to meet
The Alzheimer support group will
meet at 1 p.m. Thursday at the senior center. No reservation is
necessary. The group provides support and information for caregivers
and extended family. A coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre
facilitates the meetings.
Oasis
board meeting
The monthly board meeting of Senior
Citizens of Logan County will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday at the senior
center. The meeting is open to the public. The board must receive
notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the month
prior to a meeting date to schedule any items on the agenda.
Pharmacist will review prescriptions
Pharmacist Camille Wissmann will be
at the senior center from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Friday to review
prescriptions, over-the-counter drugs and herbal supplements seniors
are taking. Call 732-6132 for appointments.
Memories
class
The monthly Memories class is
scheduled for 3:45 p.m. Friday in the senior center library. No
reservation is necessary. Participants should bring their own pen
and paper to learn skills needed to preserve memories for families
and friends.

food is coming Friday
Self Help and Resource Exchange food
orders may be picked up between 4 and 5:30 p.m. Friday. Also, March
orders may be placed then. The Catholic Diocese of Peoria sponsors
the program, which is open to everyone, regardless of faith, age or
income.
Tuesday
lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch on Feb. 22 will
feature beef stew, salad, biscuit, dessert and a drink for only
$3.75. Ticket purchase deadline is noon Friday. The deadline is
early because the senior center will be closed for the Monday
holiday.
Card
winners announced
Helen Cart and Larry Van Bibber were
weekday winners for pinochle. Weekend pinochle winners were Pauline
Boward, Dorothy Oltmanns, Betty Berger and Eileen Kohl.
