NORMAL -- For the
second straight season, Illinois State junior
Neil Plank was named
to the 2004-05 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America University
Division Men's Basketball Team as selected by the CoSIDA
All-District V Team on Thursday.

Plank, who was named to the 2003-04
All-District V Team, is currently averaging 7.5 points and 4.4
rebounds per game. He has played in 22 games, all as a reserve. The
product of Mount Zion carries a 4.0 grade-point average and is
majoring in finance. "I'm
happy for Neil and this is truly a deserving honor," head coach
Porter Moser said. "He takes tremendous pride in his academics, as
he should. With the demands that are placed on a student-athlete, it
is great to see someone produce like he does in the classroom with
his 4.0 and on the floor."
Plank was named the 2003-04 Illinois
State Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned Missouri Valley
Conference Scholar-Athlete Second Team honors in 2004. He is on the
dean's list at ISU and is a five-time member of the AFNI Athletic
Directors Honor Roll.
