LINCOLN -- Doris Curry, 82, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Jan.
13, 2005, at 3:25 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev.
Jame Hahs officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. at
the funeral home.
Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery.
Mrs. Curry retired from Lincoln Developmental Center, where
she was a technician.
She was born Sept. 13, 1922, in Mackenzie, N.D., to John
and Maud Ingersoll Williamson. She married Harold Curry in
Missouri in 1941. He died in July of 1946.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce (and Nellie) Curry of
Sullivan and Albert (and Dorothy) Curry of Akron, Ohio; two
daughters, Shirley Curry of Lincoln and Alberta (and Paul)
Gray of Lincoln; six grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren;
three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Viola Penicook of
Piper City.
She was also preceded in death by five sisters, one brother
and a stillborn son.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was a member of Lincoln Eagles Auxiliary and the
Lincoln American Legion Auxiliary.

MOUNT PULASKI -- Helen F.
Tendick, 83, of Mount Pulaski, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005,
at 8:25 a.m. at St. John's Hospice North in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7
p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m.
Friday at Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev.
Paul Droegemueller officiating.
Burial will be in Mount
Pulaski Cemetery.
Mrs. Tendick was a bookkeeper
at Holmes Garage in Mount Pulaski for 25 years.
She was born Dec. 28, 1921, in
Logan County to Louis J. and Hilma J. Hahn Gluick. She married
John E. Tendick on July 27, 1946. He died Nov. 18, 1988.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda K. (and Larry)
Collier of Mount Pulaski and Karen L. (and Robert) Wolpert of
Mount Pulaski; four grandchildren; and seven
great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski
and a member at large of Delta Omicron sorority.

Pulaski Zion Lutheran School.

MASON CITY -- Shirley Jean
Walker, 69, of Mason City, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at
5:17 p.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7
p.m. Friday at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. Her funeral
will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev.
Dustin Fulton officiating.
Burial will be in Mason City
Cemetery.
Ms. Walker retired from state
employment in 2003. She had worked at Lincoln Developmental
Center.
She was born Dec. 24, 1935, in
Luther Township, Mason City, to John and Jodie Hutchinson
Davis.
She is survived by two sons,
John Koehne (and caregiver Michael Harlow) of Springfield and
Kenneth Koehne of Springfield; three daughters, Jodie (and
Gene) Smith of Riverton, Linda McCray of Lincoln and Donna
(and Bob) Bolyard of Elkhart; four grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pat Davis of Mason City and
Donald Davis of Utica; and one sister, Mary Gadberry of
Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by
her parents; twin sons Steven and William Walker in 1970; one
grandson, Chip Smith, in 1999; three brothers; and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be
made to the Bethesda group home in Mason City.

Montgomery, 88, formerly of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Jan. 11,
2005, at 2:55 p.m. at Capitol Care Center.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7
p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln, with the rosary recited at 6:45 p.m.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m.
Friday at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. R.
Anthony Lee officiating.
Burial will be in Holy Cross
Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs. Montgomery was a counter
clerk for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation
Service and performed secretarial duties for Scully Estates in
Lincoln.
She was born March 23, 1916,
in Lincoln to Dale and Emily Stringer Bruner. She married
Donald R. Montgomery on Aug. 16, 1938, in Lincoln. He died
July 24, 1987.
She is survived by two
daughters, Ilene (and Warren) Davis of Lincoln and Rita (and
Richard) Ferguson of Springfield; one grandson; and two
great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death
by one son and one brother, Clarence. She was the last of her
immediate family.
She was a member of Holy
Family Church in Lincoln and the Illinois Federal Association
of Retired Employees.

Family Church or the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

KENNEY -- Allen Harold
Opperman, 53, of Kenney, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at 10:45
a.m. at his home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7
p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount
Pulaski. His funeral will follow at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Mark
Peters officiating.
Cremation will follow the
service.
Mr. Opperman was a farmer.
He was born April 1, 1951, in
Lincoln to Harold William and Helen Schaefer Opperman. He
married Marla Wiley Elders in Chestnut on Nov. 28, 1975.
He is survived by his wife, of
Kenney; three sons, Micky Elder of Kenney, Eric (and Dana)
Opperman of Savannah, Ga., and Brad Opperman of Washington,
D.C.; one daughter, Laura Opperman of Mount Pulaski; and one
sister, Betty Goodman of Chestnut.
He was preceded in death by
his parents.
He was a member of Zion
Lutheran Church of Chestnut, Sons of the American Legion Post
447, Chestnut Men's Club and Beason Men's Club. He was a board
member and past president of Chestnut Grain.
At the University of Illinois
he was a member of the Illi-Dell fraternity.

NORMAL -- Lois Buesking, 86, formerly of
Atlanta, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at 4:45 p.m. at Heritage
Manor.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with the Rev. Jame Hahs
officiating. Visitation was on Wednesday at
the funeral home.
Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs. Buesking was a homemaker for her family.
She was born Oct. 3, 1918, at Macon to Stuart and Maude
Dunkel Unroe. She married Boyd O. Buesking on Jan. 22, 1939,
at Macon. He died Sept. 27, 2000.
She is survived by three sons, Carl Frederick (and Melodie)
Buesking of Cordova, Tenn., Boyd Leon "Buster" Buesking of
Bloomington and Richard Lee (and Becky) Buesking of Effingham;
seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters,
Ann McLaughlin and Leona Unroe, both of Decatur.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and one
sister.
Memorials may be made to BroMenn Hospice of
Normal.

Coleman, 44, of Midland City, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at
10:06 a.m. at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Visitation
was on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in McClimans
Cemetery, Hallsville.
Mr. Coleman was the lead
carton scheduler for Saint-Gobain, the bottle factory in
Lincoln.
He was born Jan. 25, 1960, in
Lincoln to John F. and Joyce Hughes Coleman. He married Rita
Huffman on Aug. 25, 1984, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of
Midland City; three sons, Tristan Coleman, Jared Coleman and
Gabe Coleman, all of Midland City; his parents, of Lincoln;
one brother, Keith (and Ann) Coleman of Lincoln; and two
sisters, Jean Coleman of Lincoln and Jamie (and Tim) Brennan
of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by
one sister, Judy Schaub.
