LINCOLN -- Guy Allen Jackson, 81, of Lincoln died Sunday,
June 19, 2005, at 8:31 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Thursday at
Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His graveside service will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at
Zion Cemetery, with Orville Jackson officiating.
Mr. Jackson worked at Stetson's Pottery for 19 years as a
kiln placer and later at Eaton as a paint sprayer for 23 years
before he retired in 1989. He also worked for the B&B Railroad
for three years.
He was in the U.S. Army for three years and served in the
Pacific Theatre.
He was born Aug. 26, 1923, at Hartsburg to William C. and
Sophia Daisy Engel Jackson. He married Ruby M. Jackson on
April 3, 1946, in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years; one son, Guy Eugene
(and Linda) Jackson of Lincoln; one daughter, Patricia M.
Jenkins of St. Louis, Mo; four grandsons; one granddaughter;
three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers
and was the last member of his immediate family.
He was a member of Local 1165 of the International
Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers and Potters
Union.

ATHENS -- Ron E. Neavill, 63, of Lincoln died Saturday,
June 18, 2005 at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mott &
Henning Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St. in Athens.
Private burial will be at a later date.
Mr. Neavill worked at Eaton Industries in Lincoln for 35
years.
He was born Sept. 12, 1941, at Fancy Prairie to Donald J.
and Anna L. Meredith Neavill.
He is survived by one daughter, Terry (and husband Michael)
Stout of Tallula; one granddaughter, Brittany Stout; one
brother, Arthur (and wife Sue) Neavill of Commerce Township,
Mich.; one sister, Donna (and husband Jay) Domser of Houston,
Texas; two nieces; and one nephew.
He graduated from Athens High School in 1959.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

MOUNT PULASKI -- Dorothy Helen Bender, 91, of Mount Pulaski
died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 7:15 a.m. at Vonderlieth
Living Center.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with
the Rev. Frank Pieper officiating. Visitation will be one hour
prior to the service.
Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Miss Bender was a retired photographer.
She was born Oct. 19, 1913, in Mount Pulaski to John
Frederick and Ruth Von Lobberecht Bender.
She is survived by one sister, June Rockwell of Mount
Pulaski; one sister-in-law, Harriet Bender of Mount Pulaski;
and several nieces and nephews.
Four brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mount
Pulaski, and memorials may be made to the church.

MASON CITY -- Mildred Douglas, 88, formerly of New Holland,
died Saturday, June 18, 2005, at 4:25 a.m. at Health Park Care
Center, Fort Myers, Fla.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hurley Funeral
Home in Mason City. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m.
Burial will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.
Mrs. Douglas worked at Stetson China in Lincoln and then in
the foreign titles section of the Illinois secretary of
state's office for 10 years. After she retired from state
employment, she worked at Cranwill's restaurant in Mason City.
She moved to Florida in 1988 and worked at Shellpoint Nursing
Home and then at Publix Food Service for the past 15 years.
She was born Sept. 28, 1917, at Kaleva, Mich., to Delopha
and Nora Ford Skaggs. She married Merle Douglas on Aug. 26,
1935, in Mason City. He died April 15, 1975.
She is survived by one son, Ronald (and Karen) Douglas of
New Holland; one daughter, Janet Sue (and Robert) Maxwell of
Fort Myers, Fla.; two grandchildren; and a cousin, special
friend and traveling companion, Darlene Robertson of Mason
City.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy
Becker.
She was a member of the Mason City Christian Church and had
been a member of the Ladies Farm Bureau of Mason County.
Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund for
the Mason City Christian Church.

LINCOLN -- Georgie Ann Parsons, 71, of Lincoln died Friday,
June 17, 2005, at 1:44 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
Her funeral
was Tuesday morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln, with Tim Searby officiating. Visitation was on Monday
at the funeral home.
Burial is in Lawndale Cemetery.
Mrs. Parsons worked at the Lincoln bottle factory, as a
waitress at Busy Bee Restaurant, as a bartender and for 12
years as a prep cook at Al's Main Event.
She was born Sept. 25, 1933, at Pleasant Plains to Levi
Madison and Tena Marion Clemons. She married Danny Parsons in
Lincoln on Feb. 22, 1980.
She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; one daughter,
Sheryl (and William) Carson of Lincoln; four sons, Raymond
(and Cherie) Merritt of Lawndale, Donald (and Kay) Merritt of
Lincoln, Sam (and Lori) Merritt of Pekin and Jason (and Erin)
Merritt of Lincoln; nine grandchildren; 12
great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John Clemons of
Springfield and Gene (and Sharon) Clemons of Springfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers
and five sisters.
She was of the Christian faith.
She graduated from Pleasant Plains High School in 1951
Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Association or
American Heart Association.
