MOUNT PULASKI -- Emagene L. Weckel, 88, of Mount Pulaski
died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at 8:24 p.m. at St. John's
Hospital in Springfield.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski. Her
funeral will follow at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. Frank Pieper
officiating.
Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery.
Mrs. Weckel had worked in the licensing department for
the secretary of state.
She was born Aug. 27, 1917, at Mount Pulaski to Carl
Cecil and Grave Evelyn Smith Buckles. She married Eugene M.
Weckel in Joplin, Mo., on Aug. 29, 1940. He died Feb. 9,
1990.
She is survived by two daughters, Ann (and Ron) Leesman
of Mount Pulaski and Pamela (and John) Kelly of Baton Rouge,
La.; two grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one brother and one
grandson.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Mount
Pulaski and American Legion Auxiliary 447.

LINCOLN -- George C. Garvey, 73, of Lincoln died
Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at 6:35 p.m. at St. John's Hospital
in Springfield.
His body was cremated.
A celebration of his life will be from 1 to 3 p.m.
Saturday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mr. Garvey was a retired state policeman.
He served in the National Guard during the Korean War.
He was born June 9, 1932, in Springfield to Robert Henry
and Elizabeth Pasfield Garvey. He married V.J. Corbett in
Springfield on Oct. 27, 1951.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; one daughter,
Karen (and Sam) Davis of Lincoln; one sister, Elizabeth Ann
(and L. William) Reisch of Springfield; one granddaughter;
and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge of Lincoln and the
Fraternal Order of Police.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American
Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the
Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation.

LINCOLN -- Lawrence Talbert, 88, of Lincoln died Wednesday,
Nov. 9, 2005, at 2:12 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln and from
noon until 1 p.m. Saturday at Thomason Cemetery chapel,
Wayne City. A service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the
cemetery chapel, with the Rev. Richard Reinwald officiating.
Mr. Talbert retired from the security and fire department
of Lincoln Developmental Center.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was born Oct. 11, 1917, at Wayne City to Silas and
Bertha Shreves Talbert. He married Vadene Anderson on Oct.
25, 1944, and she died July 17, 1990. He married Harriett
Biggs in Lincoln on Oct. 19, 1991, and she died June 19,
2004.
He is survived by one daughter, Jan (and Perry) Hahn of
Lincoln; one stepson, Terry (and Donita) Biggs of Lincoln;
one brother, Wesley (and Katie) Talbert of Henderson, Ky.;
one sister, Nola Griffith of Wayne City; and two
stepgrandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers and five
sisters.
He was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian
Church of Lincoln and the Men's Fellowship of the church,
American Legion Post 263, and VFW.
Memorials may be made to his church.

LINCOLN -- Dewayne Tolliver, 39, died Saturday, Nov. 5,
2005, at 6:50 p.m. at home with his family.
A memorial visitation will be from 3 to 4 p.m. Saturday,
Nov. 12, at Bennett Funeral Home. A memorial service will
follow at 4 p.m.
Bennett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
He was born Nov. 22, 1965, in Cynthiana, Ky., to Erman
Ray and Ella Mae Moore Tolliver. He married Rose Stiles on
May 11, 2002, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; his father, of
Cynthiana, Ky.; six brothers, William Ray Tolliver of Ohio,
Handsome Lee Tolliver of Cynthiana, Ky., Arthur Thomas
Tolliver of Cynthiana, Ky., Timothy Clayton Tolliver of
Lincoln, James Lewis Tolliver of St. Louis, Mo., and Roy
Allen Tolliver of Ohio; and four stepchildren. Steven
Rogers, Quincy Rogers, Sarah Rogers and D.J. Hatfield Jr.,
all of Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his mother; one brother,
Randy Dale Tolliver; and one sister, Emma Catherine
Tolliver.
Memorial donations may be made to the family and will be
accepted at the funeral home.
