ELKHART -- Robert Laverne Hay, 74, of Elkhart died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. at his home.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Parkview Cemetery, Peoria, with the Rev. Daniel Tuhy officiating.

There is no visitation.

Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Lincoln.

Mr. Hay owned and operated Lincoln News Agency and was a salesman for T.V. Guide.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Galesburg to Frances Laverne and Lela Laverne Lang Hay. He married Betty Blair on March 7, 1963, in Quincy.

He is survived by his wife, of Elkhart; two sons, Robert A. (and Marianne) Hay of Lincoln and Bradley B. Hay of Broadwell; and one grandson, Bryan Hay.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John K. Hay; and one sister, Betty O'Connor.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice Care of Illinois or the Veterans Administration.

LATHAM -- Edith M. Crosier, 57, of Latham died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at 8:40 a.m. at her home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with the Rev. Kevin Treptow officiating.

Burial will be in Lake Bank Cemetery.

Mrs. Crosier was a homemaker and a mother to all of the neighborhood children.

She was born Nov. 19, 1947, in Lincoln to Muns and Margaret Helen Struhe Peveler. She married Kenneth V. Crosier in Lincoln on June 5, 1965.

She is survived by her husband, of Latham; two sons, Kenneth E. Crosier of Latham and Brian K. (and Tamari) Crosier of Warrensburg; two stepgrandchildren, Melissa A. Palat and Danniel N. Palat, both of Warrensburg; one sister, Shirley (and George) Pearson of Warren, Pa.; and four brothers, Bill (and Darlene) Peveler of Decatur, Cecil (and Evelyne) Peveler of Divernon, Richard (and Carol) Peveler of Highlandville, Mo., and Jim Peveler of Argenta.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was a member of Latham United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school, Bible school and was on the church board.

She was an election judge for Laenna Township and was active with the Latham Fire Department.

She was also a member of the third Wednesday sewing group at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
