					Helen McCreery         
					 Send a link to a friend MASON CITY -- Helen C. McCreery, 87, died Friday, Sept. 
					9, 2005, at 11:45 a.m. at Mason City Area Nursing Home. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Mason City 
					Christian Church, with the Rev. Dustin Fulton and the Rev. 
					Robert Paddack officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 
					p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery. Hurley Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mrs. McCreery was a homemaker. She was born July 20, 1918, at Mason City to Porter and 
					Blanche Perkins Garrison. She married Walter McCreery on 
					Dec. 24, 1935. He died in January of 2001. She is survived by two sons, William (and Janet) McCreery 
					of Mason City and Ronald (and Nancy) McCreery of 
					Bolingbrook; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and 
					three step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; 
					two brothers, Porter Garrison Jr. of Mason City and Tommy 
					Garrison of Lincoln; and one sister, Annis Tracy of Mason 
					City. She was also preceded in death by one sister. She was a member of Mason City Christian Church, where 
					she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was also 
					a member of the Mason City Women's Club and the Happy Home 
					Unit of the Home Bureau. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army 
					or the Alzheimer's Association, Greater Illinois Chapter. 
 
                     Barbara Petri

					LINCOLN -- Barbara Petri, 66, of Lincoln died Friday, Sept. 
					9, 2005, at 8:50 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital. Her body was cremated and there will be no visitation or 
					service. Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln handled 
					arrangements. Mrs. Petri worked in maintenance at The Oasis senior 
					citizen center. She was born Feb. 25, 1939, in Lincoln to William Lee and 
					Bernadine M. Maston Funk. She married Cyril D. "Shorty" 
					Overbey Sr., who preceded her in death in 1983. She later 
					married Arnold Petri, and he died in 1989. She is survived by one son, Cyril Overbey Jr. of Lincoln; 
					one daughter, Brenda McCluskey of Arizona; two stepsons, 
					Harley Petri and Allen Petri, both of Elkhart; and seven 
					grandchildren.  She was also preceded in death by her parents. She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

					Edwin Limback         
					 Send a link to a friend MASON CITY -- Edwin J. Limback, 88, of Mason City died 
					Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at 5:10 p.m. at Mason District 
					Hospital in Havana. His funeral was at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Luke 
					Lutheran Church, Allens Grove, with the Rev. J. Derek Riddle 
					officiating. Visitation preceded the service. Burial is in Meadowlawn Cemetery, Manito. Hurley Funeral Home handled arrangements. Mr. Limback was a lifelong farmer. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Air 
					Force from 1941 to 1945. He was born Dec. 8, 1916, in Mason County to Jess and 
					Elizabeth Durdel Limback. He married Willie Mae Carroll on 
					July 26, 1943. He is survived by his wife, of Mason City; one son, David 
					(and Nancy) Limback of St. Louis, Mo.; four daughters, June 
					(and Charles) Huffer of Lincoln, Nancy (and Jake) Adams of 
					Babbitt, Minn., Kathy (and Robert) Hellrigel of Delavan, and 
					Linda (and Louis) Wagner of Easton; 15 grandchildren; 19 
					great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence (and Pauline) 
					Limback of Mason City and Norman (and Isabel) Limback of 
					Farmington, N.M.; and one sister, Ruth (and Bob) Goggins of 
					Morton. Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and American 
					Legion Post 496. Memorials may be made to his church or to the Mason City 
					Area Nursing Home.

					ELKHART -- Robert Laverne Hay, 74, of Elkhart died 
					Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at 9:30 a.m. at his home. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Parkview 
					Cemetery, Peoria, with the Rev. Daniel Tuhy officiating. There is no visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader 
					Funeral Home of Lincoln. Mr. Hay owned and operated Lincoln News Agency and was a 
					salesman for T.V. Guide. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was born Dec. 23, 1930, in Galesburg to Frances 
					Laverne and Lela Laverne Lang Hay. He married Betty Blair on 
					March 7, 1963, in Quincy. He is survived by his wife, of Elkhart; two sons, Robert 
					A. (and Marianne) Hay of Lincoln and Bradley B. Hay of 
					Broadwell; and one grandson, Bryan Hay. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, John K. 
					Hay; and one sister, Betty O'Connor. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 
					Hospice Care of Illinois or the Veterans Administration.

					Virgil E. Reed 
					Lincoln- Mr. Virgil E. Reed, 87, of Glendale Arizona 
                    formerly of Lincoln and Decatur passed away on Sunday, 
                    September 11, 2005 at 6:57 a.m. at his home.
 Funeral Services for Mr. Reed will be held at 1:00 p.m. on 
                    Friday , September 16, 2005 at the Peasley Funeral Home in 
                    Lincoln with Rev. R. Anthony Lee officiating.
 
 Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on 
                    Friday at the funeral home prior to the funeral.
 
 Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Lincoln with full 
                    military rites accorded. .
 
 Mr. Reed is survived by his wife: Helen of Glendale, one 
                    son: David E. Reed of Phoenix. Az. One sister: Mrs. Janet (Tess) 
                    Singleton of Blaine, MN and one grandchild.
 
 Mr. Reed was preceded in death by two brothers Clarence Reed 
                    and Charles Tillman , one sister – Velma Vicic.
 
 Mr. Reed was born in Lincoln on December 18, 1917 the son of 
                    Charles and Bertha McClintock Reed. He married Helen R. 
                    Vicic on December 26, 1943 in Cleveland, OH.
 She survives.
 
 Mr. Reed served in the United States Navy during WW II. He 
                    retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1974. He was as 
                    member of St. James Catholic Church in Decatur and is a 
                    Lifetime Member of the Knights of Columbus #577 of Decatur.
