Dear Brothers &
Sisters,
Grace, mercy and
peace by multiplied unto you from God our Father and from our Lord
and soon returning Savior, Jesus, who is the Christ.
As you aware,
victims of Hurricane Katrina are still in need of many necessities
of life. We, the members of the religious community, are doing what
we can to bring some relief to the displaced people of the United
States.
Some of you are
sending supplies and contributing financially, and I say, "Praise
the Lord." However, I want to bring you some additional information
that might bring us all together in our efforts to provide whatever
resources we may have. I want to personally thank you who have
offered to open your homes to evacuees heading this way. As of this
date, I am told that identification of homes for evacuees has been
"put on hold" for now. God knows who you are, and I am grateful and
blessed by your sharing heart.
There are still
things we can do, and I want to let you know that the Katrina Relief
Fund has now located a building to which we can bring our supplies
and drop them off. John and Frankie Guzzardo gave us this store
(free, with electricity) for as long as we may need it. The Rev.
Robert Coons is spearheading this drive, and I would like to see all
of us join us, where we can, and help this effort continue to be
successful. Location: 509 Pulaski.
