LINCOLN -- Marie Aileen Osborne, 84, of Lincoln passed away at 2:05 p.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2006 in Maple Ridge Care Center.

 

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, April 3, 2006  at Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln with Rev. Oscar Owens of Full Gospel Evangelistic Center officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday, April 3, 2006 also at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.   

 

 Memorial donations may be made to the Full Gospel Evangelistic Center and will be accepted at the funeral home.

 

Marie was born February 22, 1922 in Mason City, Illinois to the late Jesse and Nellie (Griffin) Zimmerman.  She married Paul Lee Osborne in 1964 in Lincoln, Illinois. 

 

Mrs. Osborne was a member of the Full Gospel Evangelistic Center in Lincoln.  She worked for 20 years at US Corrugated Box Factory in Lincoln, Illinois.

 

Survivors include:

5 Step-Children:   Paula Osborne of Lincoln; Sandra Hurst of Springfield; Donnie Osborne of Lincoln; Gary Osborne of Lincoln; and Vickie Bowen of Lincoln

4 Grandchildren    13 Step-Grandchildren

Several Great-Grandchildren

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Robert Merreighn, 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Marilyn Proctor

LINCOLN -- Marilyn F. Proctor, 79, of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Lincoln, died Thursday, March 30, 2006, in Lincoln.

Visitation was on Friday at Peasley Funeral Home.

A graveside service was Saturday morning at Zion Cemetery, rural Lincoln, with the Rev. Julie Azbell officiating.

Mrs. Proctor retired from State Bank of Lincoln after 20 years of service.

She was born in Tolono on March 25, 1927, to Glen and Hazel Bickel Percival. She married George Wilbur Proctor on July 10, 1951. He died March 25, 2006.

She is survived by one son, Gary (and Julie) Proctor of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; one daughter, Karen Proctor of Westminster, Colo.; two sisters, Evelyn Shepard of Altamont and Barbara Buenker of Dieterich; and four grandchildren.

She was a member of Beach United Methodist Church, Jacksonville Beach, Fla. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Descendants of Valley Forge.

She graduated from Effingham High School.

Robert Mayer

MOUNT PULASKI -- Robert L. Mayer, 72, of Mount Pulaski died Thursday, March 30, 2006, at 6:46 a.m. at his home.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home in Mount Pulaski. Rick Deters will be in charge.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mr. Mayer was a Logan County sheriff's deputy from June 1973 to August 2004. He also worked for the Lincoln Police Department from February 1963 to January 1973.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was born Dec. 16, 1933, in Lincoln to Fred L. and Ruth McDonald Mayer. He married Sandra Kay Boyer in Lincoln on May 6, 1978.

He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski; one daughter, Natalie Kay Mayer of Mount Pulaski; two sons, Nicholas Robert Mayer of Mount Pulaski and Robert Mayer Jr. of Florida; and one grandson, Samuel Mayer.

He was preceded in death by his parents and stepmother.

He was a member of the Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department, a previous fire chief of the Elkhart Fire Department and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He served on the Logan County E-911 board from 1990 to 2005.

Memorials may be made to the Mount Pulaski Phoenix Fire Department.

George Hutchison

LINCOLN -- George Welby Hutchison 81, of Lincoln died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at 10:57 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre, with his devoted wife at his side.

A service celebrating his life was Saturday morning at the United Pentecostal Church, with Pastor Robert Long and the Rev. David Mitchell officiating. Visitation was on Friday at the church.

Interment is in Zion Cemetery.

Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home of Decatur is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mr. Hutchison was an employee of the Model Paris Laundry in Bloomington for 25 years. He retired from West Lincoln School in 1989 after 16 years of driving the school bus and working as a custodian.

He was born, May 25, 1924, in Mason City to Roy Wel's and Iva Reed Hutchison. He married Wanda "Sam" Allen on Oct. 11, 1974.

He is survived by his wife; five children, Theresa (and E.J.) Yuncker of Bloomington, Tammy (and Kevin) Fahling of Towanda, Pam (and Brian) Reilly of Gridley, Joseph (and Regina) Talley of Denver, Colo., and Amanda (and Bill) Fouke of Lincoln; three brothers, Richard of Broadwell, Shelby of Lincoln and Lloyd of Deland, Fla.; one sister, Vera Ramlow of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and last but not least, his beloved dog Bingo.

An infant daughter, Kimberly, preceded him in death.

He was a long-standing member of the United Pentecostal Church.

Memorial contributions to the United Pentecostal Church of Lincoln would be appreciated to assist in paying for the handicapped-accessible ramp.

Venona Letterle

LINCOLN -- Venona Lorine Letterle, 76, of Lincoln died Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at 7:45 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Her funeral was Saturday morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Terry Davis officiating. Visitation was on Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Lake Bank Cemetery, rural Mount Pulaski.

Mrs. Letterle retired from the dietary department at Lincoln Developmental Center in 1976.

She was born July 18, 1929, in Waynesville to R.V. and Dollie Cisco Gaston. She married Virgil J. Letterle on Oct. 28, 1946, in Clinton. He died March 7, 1983.

She is survived by three sons, Richard (and Karen) Letterle, Robert (and Donnallee) Letterle and Randy Letterle, all of Lincoln; one daughter, Sarah J. (and Eli) Jett of Quail, Texas; one brother, C.F. "Mannie" (and Dixie) Gaston of Lincoln; one sister, Wanda (and Jim) Morris of Broadwell; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Sandra Russell; two brothers; one sister; and one grandchild.

She was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Lupus Foundation.
