ARMINGTON -- Maxine O. Rogers,
91, of Armington, died at 12:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2006, at
Hopedale Nursing Home, Hopedale.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Armington Christian
Church and from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Her funeral
will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church, with Ed Loyd
officiating. |
Burial will be at Wolf Grove, a private family
cemetery.
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta is
handling arrangements.
Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and gave piano
lessons for many years.
She was born Nov. 17, 1915, at Armington to Clint
and Bessie Bell Elliott. She married Harry Rogers on
Feb. 20, 1937, at the Armington farm where she lived
the rest of her life. Her husband preceded her in
death.
She is survived by two sons, Elliott (and Wanda)
Rogers of Armington, and Dennis (and Gale) Rogers of
Indialantic, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Amy (and
Shawn) Hohulin of Minier, Clint (and Monica) Rogers
of Armington, Randy, Jeremy and Jason Harkrider of
Texas, Denise Harkrider of Florida, and Jamie
Harkrider of New York; and five great-grandchildren,
Bailey, Brooke, Elliott, Elain and Erik.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter,
Bonita Harkrider, and a sister, Florine Elliott.
Mrs. Rogers was a member of Armington Christian
Church, where she was church pianist and organist.
She also accompanied music contests. She was a
member of the Armington Woman's Club and was active
in community affairs throughout her life.

She also enjoyed parties and anything elegant. She
enjoyed being with people.
She was a graduate of Hittle High School in
Armington.
She will be missed by many.
Memorials may be made to the elevator fund at the
Armington Christian Church or to the Armington
Rescue Squad.
