LINCOLN -- Eloise D. Owens, 95, of Lincoln died Monday, Jan. 9, 2006, at 11:05 p.m. at Hopedale Medical Complex, Hopedale.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Glenn Shelton officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

She was a cook at Lincoln Developmental Center before she retired and was also a caterer.

She was born Sept. 24, 1910, in Lincoln to William C. and Rilla Robinson Davis. She married Lee T. Townsend, and he preceded her in death. She later married Leonard Owens in Flint, Mich., and he preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons, Henry Albert Townsend of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Harvey Allen (and Miriam) Townsend of Granada Hills, Calif.; one daughter, Dolly M. Townsend of St. Louis, Mo.; one brother, Guy E. Davis of Springfield; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, four brothers and two grandsons.

Mrs. Owens was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Lincoln, where she served on the mothers' board. She was also a board member for Community Action and an active member of NAACP.

She was a former foster grandparent of the year for the state of Illinois.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

LINCOLN -- Jacqueline Jean Margaret Louise Work, 77, a lifetime resident of Lincoln, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at her residence and went home to be with the Lord.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church, with the Rev. Glenn Shelton officiating.

Bennett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

She worked as an activity therapist at Lincoln Developmental Center for over 20 years.

She was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Oklahoma.

She is survived by four children, Sylvia Marie Randall of Springfield, Duane (and wife Sharon) Work of Lincoln, Thomas (and wife Buelah) Work of Springfield and Marcus (and wife Jane) Work of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was an active member of Second Baptist Church, where she served on the mothers' board, was assistant Sunday school superintendent and taught Sunday school.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to her church.

LINCOLN -- Joyce Marie Buss, 73, of Lincoln died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at 4:06 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Robert Twist officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Buss was a secretary in labor relations at Lincoln Developmental Center. She also worked at Stetson China Factory; GTE and Burwell's Travel Plaza.

She was born Nov. 24, 1932, in East Peoria to Henry and Jessie Davis Ball. She married John Robert Buss on June 27, 1976. He died Oct. 9, 1996. Prior marriages were to Richard Ruggles and Wendell Dalbey.

She is survived by her mother, of Lincoln; one daughter, Denise Matthews of Lincoln; three stepchildren; one sister, Julia Delaney, Elkhart; one brother, Donald Ball of Falls Church, Va.; a granddaughter, Sara Matthews of Lincoln, presently studying in Madrid, Spain; eight stepgrandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews

She was also preceded in death by her father, one sister, two sons, a grandson and a nephew.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church.

She enjoyed crocheting, collecting recipes and dancing.

Memorials may be made to the Logan County Paramedic Association.

Mary Kramp

LINCOLN -- Mary Rose Kramp, 88, of Lincoln, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at 2:05 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital at Lincoln.

Her funeral Mass was Wednesday morning at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. R. Anthony Lee officiating.

Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Peasley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Kramp and her husband owned and operated a photographic studio in Carlsbad, N.M., for 17 years. She later worked for S.S. Kresge, Haag Drug, Key Pharmacy, Mr. Donut and for Head Start as a foster grandparent.

She was born Aug. 6, 1917, in Lincoln to Joseph and Mabel Reichle Warnisher. She married F.H. "Bud" Kramp on Aug. 19, 1941, at St. Patrick's Church in Lincoln. He died Aug. 9, 1978.

She is survived by her two children, Richard Kramp of Lincoln and Marilyn (and Ray) Jordan of Boyd, Texas; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Lincoln.

She attended Lincoln High School

Memorials may be made to the Lincoln Public Library or The Raymond Jordan Boyd Public Library at Boyd, Texas.

HARTSBURG -- Kathy J. Prather, 50, of Hartsburg died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at 11:33 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln.

Visitation was on Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Praireland Christian Church, with Vance Russell officiating.

Burial will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Prather was an adviser for the Logan Mason Rehabilitation Center, a teacher's aide at Lincoln Community High School for 13 years and a manager at the Lincoln Salvation Army retail store for 4 1/2 years

She was born July 24, 1955, in Lincoln to Wilbert Edward and Ann Simpson Humbert. She married Verl R. Prather on Oct. 30, 1982, in Lincoln.

She is survived by her husband; her mother, Ann McMullen of Normal; one son, J.R. Eskew of Lincoln; one stepson, Verl A. (and Penny) Prather of Lincoln; two stepdaughters, Lori (and Joe) O'Connell of Springfield and Tammy (and John) Scully of Springfield; three brothers, Mark Humbert, Robert Humbert and Gary Humbert, all of Lincoln; a half sister, Terry Wheeler of Lincoln; three half brothers, John Humbert of Springfield, Randy Wheeler of Springfield and Donnie Wheeler of Lincoln; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father.
