Loren McArthy

[JUNE 30, 2006]  Loren McArthy, 90, of Lincoln died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 7:20 a.m. at St. John's Hospital, Springfield, with his loving wife by his side.

There will be no visitation.

A family service will be on Monday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, with military rites performed at the grave site by the Sangamon County Interveterans Burial Detail.

Mr. Fletcher farmed in Corwin Township, west of Lincoln.

He proudly served his country in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II.

He was born June 15, 1916, at New Holland, Sheridan Township, to Fletcher and Fannie Wendell McArthy. He married Katherine Martin on Oct. 26, 1941, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln, and two daughters, Karen Kulesa (and Edward) of Bellbrook, Ohio, and Janet Malsan (and Joe) of Colorado Springs, Colo.

His sister, Vera Duginger, preceded him in death.

He attended Lincoln Christian Church and was a former member of the New Holland American Legion.

Memorial donations may be made to The Christian Village.
