Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial -- 1809 - 2009 celebration begins

The City of Lincoln's "First city to live the legacy," celebration kicked-off Sunday evening with special guests Senator Larry Bomke, President Abraham Lincoln (interpreted by Gary Simpkins), State Rep. Rich Brauer, Mayor Beth Davis, Rep. Lt. Gov. candidate Joe Birkett, Congressman Ray LaHood and Lincoln College president John Hutchinson.  The speakers joined in singing the Star Spangled Banner led by Mary Kay (Fedor) Lorenz on the steps to Lincoln College's University Hall.
