Gladys Boyd

[FEB. 5, 2007]  Gladys L. Boyd, 89, of Lincoln died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at 6:30 a.m. at the Christian Nursing Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with a White Shrine service following at 7 p.m. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Hahs officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Boyd was a homemaker, a clerk at JCPenney and worked with her husband on the farm.

She was born Aug. 2, 1917, in Lincoln to Harvey and Catherine Goeckel McCain. She married Walter Sahs, and he died in January 1954. She married Elwood Boyd in Lincoln on Jan. 23, 1955, and he died Dec. 2, 1986

She is survived by three sons, William H. (and Barb) Sahs of Lincoln, Ronald (and Peg) Boyd of Lincoln and Thomas (and Jane) Boyd of Mapleton; one daughter, Patsy (and David) Zgaga of Lincoln; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Steven Boyd; three brothers; two sisters; and two granddaughters. She was the last of her immediate family

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Abraham Shrine 100 of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and Lincoln Chapter 351 of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
