At Mrs. Shull's request, her body has been donated
to medical research. Her family will celebrate her
long and exemplary life privately. Mrs. Shull was
primarily a homemaker but also was a church organist
and substitute teacher. She had been involved in
community affairs in Lincoln.
She was born Feb. 25, 1908, in Lincoln to Samuel
Montgomery and Josephine McKennan Keys. She married
Roy S. Anderson of Lincoln on July 12, 1929, in
Lincoln; he died Sept. 23, 1986. She married Cal W.
Shull of Savoy, a former Lincoln High School
classmate, on Sept. 18, 1989; he died May 26, 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Jean Weigel of
Urbana and Joan Williams of Champaign; two
stepdaughters, Terry A. Tripp of Dickerson, Md., and
Sara L. Shull of Homer; a stepson, Steven W. Shull,
of Calabasas Park, Calif.; and numerous
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters and one
brother.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church of
Lincoln and Chapter AR of the PEO Sisterhood.
For more than 20 summers, she was reservation
secretary at George Williams College Camp in
Wisconsin. She and her family thought of the camp as
a second home.
She enthusiastically participated in activities
during her more than 10 years as a resident of the
Windsor of Savoy.
She enjoyed family events, bridge, athletics,
knitting, sewing and cooking.
She attended McMurray College in Jacksonville,
studying business and music.
She was known for her "can do" attitude, her
optimism and a remarkable ability to always put
others' needs before her own.
