[July 03, 2007]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Cross Brothers Implement-Mount Pulaski defeated Atlanta 20-14 at Mount Pulaski Monday night. Taylor Anderson recorded the win for Mount Pulaski with seven strike-outs. Cady Lowery, Taylor Anderson, Gracie Tierney, Alexis Bowles and Samantha Fanning all had singles, while Karilyn Walsh and Cady Lowery both had triples in the game. Rachel Durchholz, Alexis Bowles, Madison Chandler, Emma Stewart and Hannah Skaggs all reached first on walks.

The Mount Pulaski team will travel to the Lincoln Rec Center Tuesday night to meet State Bank of Lincoln in a doubleheader starting at 6.

Cross Brothers Implement-Mount Pulaski won the double elimination tournament at Clinton on Saturday.

Cross Brothers defeated host team Clinton 15-12 in the 9 a.m. game. Taylor Anderson recorded the win for Mount Pulaski. Karilyn Walsh, Taylor Anderson, Cady Lowery and Rachel Durchholz all recorded singles, while Samantha Fanning recorded a double in the second inning. Emily Johnston, Gracie Tierney, Alexandria Connely and Hannah Skaggs all received walks in the game.

Cross Brothers Implement-Mount Pulaski went up against State Bank of Lincoln in the 10:30 a.m. game, recording a 19-12 win. Taylor Anderson got the win for Cross Brothers with help from Samantha Fanning at the mound. Karilyn Walsh, Taylor Anderson, Cady Lowery and Emily Johnston all recorded singles for Mount Pulaski. Cady Lowery had a double in the first inning and Rachel Durchholz had doubles in the third and fourth innings. Alexis Bowles, Hannah Skaggs, Samantha Fanning, Alexandria Connely, Emma Stewart and Madison Chandler all reached first base on walks.

For State Bank of Lincoln, Marissa, Molly, Malorie, Alex, Shelby and Jenna all had singles, while Shelby also recorded a triple in the third inning and a double in the fourth inning.

Cross Brothers Implement-Mount Pulaski then played in the 3 p.m. championship game. Although Mount Pulaski was undefeated and Clinton had recorded two losses in the tournament, the championship game was played out. Mount Pulaski defeated the host team 14-12 to bring home the first-place tournament trophy. Taylor Anderson recorded the win, striking out three batters. Karilyn Walsh, Taylor Anderson, Cady Lowery, Rachel Durchholz, Emily Johnston and Alexandria Connely all had singles for Mount Pulaski. Cady Lowery and Samantha Fanning recorded doubles as well.

Cross Brothers Implement-Mount Pulaski also defeated Clinton 8-1 in a softball game June 27 in Clinton. The game was called short due to rain. Taylor Anderson was the winning pitcher for Mount Pulaski, striking out four batters. Cady Lowery, Rachel Durchholz and Samantha Fanning all had singles for Mount Pulaski. Karilyn Walsh, Taylor Anderson, Cady Lowery, Alexis Bowles, Emily Johnston, Hannah Skaggs and Emma Stewart all had walks posted.
