Robert 'Bobby' Rogers

Robert L. "Bobby" Rogers, 60, of
Lincoln, died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2008, at 6:22 p.m. at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Bill Degen officiating. Visitation
will be one hour prior to the service. |
Cremation will follow the service on Monday. There
will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug.
29. Mr. Rogers had worked at Lincoln Developmental
Center as a mental health technician.
He was born June 25, 1948, at Effingham to
Charles B. and Violet L. Miller Rogers.
He is survived by his ex-wife and good friend,
Rose Tolliver of Lincoln; three sons, Steven R.
Rogers of Lincoln, Quincy B. (and Christa) Rogers of
Lincoln and Bradley Herlien of Brandon, Fla.; one
daughter, Sara Rogers and fiance Nick Fleshman of
Lincoln; one brother, Jim (and Brenda) Rogers of
Effingham; one sister, Joyce (and Norman) Hawbaker
of Decatur; and his beloved dog, Mary Todd Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two
sons, Ramsey and Barry Rogers; and two brothers,
Rodell and Billy Rogers.
He was a member of Holy Family Church. |
Bobby's life centered around his family, his dog and
his Catholic faith.
His many hobbies included photography, collection
of John Deere and Coca-Cola memorabilia, flea
markets and antiques, and the history of Illinois,
especially Abraham Lincoln.
