It's beginning to look a lot like winter. In what is becoming an annual event, the first day of December produces inclement weather. The previous two years, the day was met with ice storms. Today, due to warmer temperatures, we might be spared the ice, but roads and walkways are slick and treacherous. The National Weather Service has advised motorists to be careful on roads today.

At left, an evergreen struggles to hold Sunday's snow as rain and snow makes for a wintry mix.
