Robert 'Boogie' Boice

[October 08, 2008]  Robert L. "Boogie" Boice, 79, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008, at 3:17 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

Mr. Boice gave his body to Science Care. There will not be any services or visitation.

Holland Barry and Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln is handling arrangements.

Mr. Boice worked at Stetson China until its close and at Aue Buick, Myers Industries and Graue Motors.

He served in the U.S. Army from December 1952 until December 1954. He was stationed in Japan.

He was born in Middletown on Feb. 16, 1929, to Charles William and Beatrice Louise Steinhour Boice. He married Marilyn Joyce Young of Greenview on Aug. 6, 1949, at the Middletown Methodist parsonage.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; sisters-in-law Joanna Boice and Barbara Boice of Middltown; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers.

He was a charter member of the Loyal Order of Moose, with a lifetime membership.

Funeral Directors

He enjoyed dancing, bowling and golfing.

Memorials may be made to the Loyal Order of Moose 1441, Veterans of Foreign Wars or St. Clara's Manor.
