Red Lions defeat Greenville

[December 09, 2009]  GREENVILLE -- The Red Lions men's basketball team from Lincoln Christian University defeated Greenville College 75-72 Tuesday evening, bringing their season record to 5-3. Jon Wallace led LCU with 17 points and eight rebounds in a game that LCU coach Mark Clark called "close and ugly."

The other double-digit scorers were Mac Ingmire with 13 points and two rebounds, Josiah Brock with 10 points and six rebounds, and Landan Callahan with 10 points. Rounding out the scoring were Sam Ernst with nine, Chris Lawson with nine and Troy Lane with seven.

The Red Lions shot 46.2 percent from the floor, including seven 3-point baskets, and 53.8 percent from the free-throw line.

LaPhonso Ellis, son of the former NBA player by the same name, led Greenville (2-6) with 29 points and 10 rebounds

LCU will host Concordia Seminary on Saturday at 3 p.m.
