At 9:31 this morning a
passer-by reported seeing a structure fully
engulfed in flames near 300th Avenue and 2300 Street. Emden, New Holland,
Lincoln
Rural and San Jose fire departments responded. Delavan Fire
Department was
also called for mutual aid. This is the second structure that has
burned to
the ground in the western Logan County countryside in less than a
week. The Logan County Salvation Army has stepped in to help the
three-person family in their time of need. Rebecca Van Nydeggen, Salvation
Army
director, has advised that the organization has arranged for lodging for the
family at Best Western Lincoln Inn and that the Red Cross is
assisting with clothing. A bank account will be set up to aid the family. Further information will be posted as
received.
