Taylor was traveling on Woodlawn when his car crossed all five
lanes of traffic and struck the curb at Daphne's Restaurant, then
proceeded into and across the restaurant parking lot and struck a
guardrail on the east side. From there the vehicle veered into a
vacant, concrete-surfaced lot, where it hit several parking bollards
before coming to a stop in the vacant lot that was formerly the site
of Bob's Roast Beef. The vehicle sustained major damage. The driver

of Woodlawn.
-
Busch, Edwin L.,
91-year-old male, Lincoln; 2006 Buick Rainier
-
2006 Mazda owned by Tuyet Baughman (no
other information given)
The officer's report said that he was traveling north on North
Madison, where he noted the 2006 Mazda. Approximately a half-block
north of there, he saw the vehicle owned by Busch parked along the
side of the road. He noted that the driver was slumped over. The
officer parked his squad car and approached the driver, who appeared
to be unresponsive. When the officer tapped on the driver's-side
window, Busch was aroused, looked startled and confused, placed his
car in reverse and backed into the Lincoln city police car.
The officer called for emergency services, and the Lincoln Fire
Department and Logan County Paramedics responded. Busch was taken to
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital by the LCPA.
The officer later spoke with Busch in the hospital and issued a
citation for improper lane usage. The officer said Busch was unaware
that he had struck the Mazda and the squad car. The officer issued
no further citations, believing that Busch was indeed unaware of the
incidents he had been involved in.
