[December 10, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Marlene Fay Tibbs, 77, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at 7:40 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Chaplain Henry Johnson officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service time at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.

She retired from state employment with the Department of Corrections as head of dietary at Logan Correctional Center.

She was born Dec. 15, 1932. Her parents were Russell and Virginia Sanders Kirby.

She is survived by one son, Scott Tibbs of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Kay (and Dallas) Banister of Girard; one sister, Jeanine Boyer of Montgomery, Ala.; four grandchildren, Christi Poe (and Jason Withers), Jeff (and Sandy) Banister, Lisa (and Daren) Schmedeke and Matthew Wilkens; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Daniel Russell.

She was a member of the Eagles 2708 Auxiliary and Women of the Moose.
