Remote control racers gather on the track to receive instructions before the beginning of the annual Toys for Tots races at RJD Raceway in Lincoln on Saturday. Participants brought in toys as their entry fee and filled the room with more than a hundred great gifts for area youth.

The following schools will be closed Monday due to extreme cold:

Lincoln Community High School, West Lincoln-Broadwell, Zion Lutheran, Chester-East Lincoln, New Holland-Middletown, Carroll Catholic, Illini Central, Hartsburg-Emden, CIEDC Head Start in Logan and Menard counties, YMCA activities, Mount Pulaski, and District 27 all closed.
