LINCOLN -- Donald W. Lessen, 81, of
Lincoln, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at 9:57 p.m. at Abraham
Lincoln Memorial Hospital.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First
United Methodist Church of Lincoln, with the Rev.
Dayle Badman officiating. |
Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Beason, with
military rites conducted by American Legion Post
263.
Mr. Lessen was the retired manager of Beason Ag
at Beason.
He served in the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps.
He was born March 15, 1928, in Logan County to
Arend and Lena Luken Theobald Lessen. He married
Gayle French on Nov. 10, 1950, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; two sons,
Daniel (and Christine) Lessen of Glen Mills, Pa.,
and Thomas (and Carolyn) Lessen of Langhorne, Pa.;
two daughters, Joellyn (and Steve) Phillips of
Lincoln and Cynthia Lessen of Harrisburg; one
brother, Gene (and Marianna) Lessen of Lincoln; 11
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Darrell,
and one sister, Patsy Gehlbach. He was a member of Beason Methodist Church, Lincoln
American Legion Post 263, and was a volunteer
fireman and fire chief for Beason for many years. |
He graduated from Lincoln Community High School.

Beason Methodist Church, or the donor's choice.
