[February 04, 2010]  Lincoln Mayor Keith Snyder announced Monday that "Round Two" of the Economic Development Summit will be on Jan. 23. The public is invited to attend. The initial Economic Development Summit in Lincoln was back on Sept. 12. The second meeting will build off the discussion that day and launch into new areas.

There will be two discussion leaders for the session. Dr. Keith Ray, president of Lincoln Christian University, will facilitate a discussion on the book "Caught in the Middle: America's Heartland in the Age of Globalism," by Richard C. Longworth. This is the book Ray recommended at the first summit meeting. Dolan Dalpaos, president and CEO of Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, will lead the second portion of the meeting with a session on strategic planning.

"Round Two" will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 23 and will conclude no later than noon. It will be at Lincoln Christian University, with the participants meeting in Room R-49 of Restoration Hall. As you turn off Route 10 onto the main drive headed toward the Hargrove Auditorium, Restoration Hall is the first building on the right. Coffee and refreshments will available for the morning.

Those interested in attending can RSVP to the mayor by e-mail to mayor@cityoflincoln-il.gov or by phone, 217-735-1612. If attendees are interested in ordering a copy of the book to be discussed, "Caught in the Middle," they may contact the mayor.
