William 'Bill' Wilson

BEASON -- William Elmer "Bill" Wilson,
78, of Beason, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at 7:47 a.m. at his
home.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, followed by
Masonic rites at 7. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home, with Pastor Dan Bell officiating. |
Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, rural Beason.
Mr. Wilson was a lifelong farmer in the Beason
area and raised dairy cattle for many years.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was born June 13, 1932, in Sioux City, Iowa.
His parents were Francis Evans "Frenchie" and
Marjorie Maddox Wilson. He married Myrna
Poffenbarger on March 6, 1955, in Beason.
He is survived by his wife, of Beason; his
children, Debra Walker of Washington, Warren Wilson
of Decatur, David (and Tammy) Wilson of Clinton and
Rita (and Duane) White of Lincoln; two sisters,
Marian (and Wendell) Reinhart of Beason and Helen
(and Dick) Lawson of Bloomington, Ind.; a
sister-in-law, Marilyn Wilson of Washington; 10
grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one
brother, Robert Wilson; three grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Clinton,
White Shrine and Gideons International. He had a
passion for spreading the Word of God by
distributing the Scriptures through Gideons. |
He was a winter Texan and traveled to Harlingen,
Texas, with his wife of 55 years.
He will be deeply missed by his family, but they
have peace knowing he is with his Lord and Savior.
