Nalene 'Peggy' Tibbs

[October 01, 2010]  LINCOLN -- Nalene W. "Peggy" Tibbs, 80, of Lincoln, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at 7:51 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Her memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Carroll Richards officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

She retired from state employment as food service manager at Logan Correctional Center.

She was born Feb. 13, 1930, in Kincaid. Her parents were Arthur and Helen Brower McCoy.

She is survived by two daughters, Betty (and Jerry) Hayes of Lincoln and Mary (and Schinova) Cory of Iwakuni, Japan; three sons, Terry (and Kathryn) Tibbs of Landisburg, Pa., Mike (and Rhonda) Tibbs of Glen Carbon and Steve (and Vaughn) Tibbs of Lincoln; one brother, James (and Betty) McCoy of Gretna, Va.; one sister, Drucilla (and Bruce) McIntire of Lincoln; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Jamie Tibbs, and one brother.

She was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Rebekah Lodge and Women of the Moose.
