His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at
Quiram-Peasley Funeral Home in Atlanta, with Maurice
Stribling officiating. Visitation will be from noon
until the service time. Burial will be in the
Atlanta Cemetery.
Mr. Brandt retired from Caterpillar.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Roy Harold Brandt was born on July 28, 1912, in
Atlanta. His parents were Murrell P. and Nellie
Bruner Brandt. He married Eirlys Jones in 1945, and
she preceded him in death on Oct. 15, 1969.
He is survived by his children, Steven Hugh
Brandt, Dorothy N. (and Gilbert) Ortiz of Alsip,
Terry Robert Brandt of Missouri, Sharon (and John)
Gerecke of Meredosia, Elizabeth Metevier of Missouri
and David John (and Diane) Brandt of Cullom; two
brothers, Gene Brandt of Lebanon and Jack Brandt of
California; nine grandchildren; three
stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by five sisters and
two brothers.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's
Foundation.
