Elva Bedwell

[June 25, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Elva Jean Bedwell, 74, of Lincoln died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at 5:36 p.m. at her home.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Park Meadows Baptist Church, with the Rev. S.M. Davis and the Rev. Thomas Bryant co-officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Mrs. Bedwell worked as a nurse's aide in Greenville from 1970 to 1974 and was a clerk for Economy Casualty Insurance Co.

She was born on July 13, 1936, in Sorento. Her parents were Aaron and Irene Fenton Strohkirch.

She is survived by two sons, Carl Steven (and Kathy) Twente of Anna and Michael (and Connie) Twente of Hudson, Iowa; one sister, Cleda M. (and Vern) Hansen of West Plains, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Wanda Strohkirch of Camdenton, Mo.; three grandchildren, Chris Twente of Lincoln, Joshua Twente of Peoria and Erin Twente of Hudson; four nieces; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Florine Hatfield; one brother, V.G. Strohkirch; and one grandson, Chad Twente.

She was a member of Park Meadows Baptist Church.
