The
first Chamber After Hours event this year drew a large crowd to Blades
Hair & Nail Salon on Madigan Drive yesterday. Perhaps it
was the weather finally breaking. But more than likely it
was the staff at Blades and the food prepared by Susan Shaw,
owner of Central Illinois Event Catering, that had everyone
in a festive mood.

In
this photo taken March 4, 50-year-old priest Prem Dass is escorted
by policemen after his arrest in New
Delhi, India. Dass' dream, police say,
was a chain of worship centers across
India -- places where boys in saffron
robes would attract throngs of devotees
with lectures on spirituality and also
attract lots of donations. So Dass
kidnapped boys as young as 10 years old,
sometimes finding them in Hindu
pilgrimage towns and bringing them to
New Delhi, where he was training them to
be preachers, according to police.

A stunned cardinal sits in Alliann Hoffman's
hand. The little guy slammed into her picture window yesterday
and knocked himself out. She went and got him, brought him into the
house, and waited for him to wake up. She said when he did, he was
calm, didn’t seem to mind being where he was and didn’t try to
fly. When she took him back outside, he flitted away,
looking for the Cub fan who gave him the wrong directions.

Designer-dressmaker Elizabeth Emmanuel, who designed the wedding gown for the
late Princess Diana for her 1981 wedding to Britain's Prince
Charles, talks to The Associated Press in London on Tuesday about
the pressures of coping with the commission to design a royal
wedding dress. Emmanuel says sthe mystery designer
for the wedding dress to be worn by Kate Middleton for her royal
wedding to Prince William is probably more than a bit anxious right
now as the April 29 date for wedding approaches.
