Pictured above is a piece of bark from an ash tree. The serpentine pattern carved into the piece is an example of the damage that is done by the emerald ash borer larva as it feeds off the inside layers of the bark, thus destroying a tree's ability to take in moisture and nutrients from the root system. Monday, city representatives heard about the EAB threat and talked about what to do when it hits Lincoln. See the full story below.
