Berkshire Hathaway buying Oriental Trading

[November 02, 2012]  OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway is buying the Oriental Trading Co., a provider of party supplies, arts and crafts, toys and other items.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Oriental Trading offers more than 40,000 products through its website and catalogs.

The acquisition is expected to close by the end of this month. Both companies are based in Omaha.

Berkshire Hathaway Inc., which operates 80-odd businesses, will report its third-quarter financial results on Friday.
