Friday, Chester-East Lincoln School closed at 11:30 a.m. All children were sent home due to gastrointestinal
illnesses.
A note on the CEL website,

advised this morning to close due to the number of
illnesses.

The home-based business and craft sale scheduled to take
place Saturday at Chester-East Lincoln has been canceled. LDN

Zonta Club of Lincoln will act in an advisory
capacity for a new Zonta Club that was recently
chartered. The Golden Z Club is a club for
youth -- dedicated to providing career guidance
and promoting leadership skills, international
fellowship and the ideal of service.

Mount Pulaski Lady Toppers volleyball team won the sectional championship
Thursday night with a 25-22 and 25-15 victory over Sciota West Prairie. Erika
Leever led the way with nine kills, and Allison Hickey added seven kills. The win by Mount
Pulaski gave coach Donna Dulle her 22nd sectional championship over her 28-year
career. The Lady Toppers improved their record to 31 wins and eight losses. Mount
Pulaski advances to the supersectional and will play Danville Schlarman at 7
p.m. Saturday in Streator.
