			like to attend a one-room school? As part of the Spoon River Reads 
			project, Dickson Mounds Museum and the Fulton County Arts Council 
			will present "Life as a Student in a One Room School" on Saturday. 
			Visitors will learn about the history of one-room schools in Fulton 
			County. Participants may come dressed in 19th-century or early 
			20th-century garb and enjoy a hands-on craft project. |

			 Both the East and West Waterford schools on the museum grounds will 
			be open to the public to view the exhibits between 1 and 3 p.m., 
			with ongoing children’s activities in the East Waterford School 
			only. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. This program is a collaborative effort between Dickson Mounds 
			Museum, the Fulton County Arts Council and the Spoon River Reads 
			project. The Fulton County Arts Council is partially funded by the 
			Illinois Arts Council, a state agency. 
			The Illinois State Museum -- Dickson Mounds is located between 
			Lewistown and Havana, off Illinois Routes 78 and 97. The museum is 
			open free to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. Tours 
			and special programs are available for groups with reservations.
