Wednesday evening, the Logan County Board recognized Brenda Sue Jones for her years of service to the county. Jones has been with the county since 1981 and is retiring from her position in the circuit clerk's office. During the county board meeting, vice chairman David Hepler presented Jones with a plaque of recognition.

This Sunday evening at 7, the Mount Pulaski Community Choir will present the cantata "What Sweeter Music" at the Mount Pulaski Christian Church. 

"What Sweeter Music — A Festival of Carols" will be a sumptuous feast of 15 English, German and French carols plus several new songs from the pen of one of the generation’s master composers, Mark Hayes. An accomplished musical dramatist, Hayes provides sensitive underscoring to continue the musical flow between movements as male and female narrators share the beloved Christmas story. Some of the carols included are "Angels We Have Heard on High," "Still, Still, Still," "Away in the Manger," "O Holy Night," and many more. The choir will be accompanied by pianist Becky Kunkan and orchestra. Directors are Beth Anderson and Claus Tanner.
