Last week while
installing a new manhole on Chicago Street at Tremont, workers came across a
piece of local history. The old electric rail line used to run down the
center of Chicago Street. The rail and railroad ties were found under
several inches of earth and asphalt.

A
multistory building is engulfed by flames after a road accident in downtown Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Thursday. According to witnesses, the fire
was a result of a petrol tank lorry that exploded near Rixos hotel at the
crossing, killing one person and destroying 20 apartments.
