If you should find yourself in a waterway-related emergency this summer, chances are you'll also see these pieces of equipment coming to your rescue. This week the Logan County Emergency Management Agency, Lincoln Fire Department and Lincoln Rural Protection District issued warnings about water safety in a news conference at the Logan County Safety Complex. Be sure to read the information they wanted to share with the public, in the story below.

Tree versus car: tree wins, kinda. The missing bark on this tree is the result of a motor vehicle accident on Ottawa Street at Lincoln Avenue on Monday. According to witnesses, the car ended up on its roof and not in very good condition. The tree sustained loss of a large portion of its bark. The bark of the tree is the water and nutrient delivery system for the tree, so loss of bark isn't exactly getting off easy for the tree either.
