Saturday is the day for the 21st annual Letter Carriers Food Drive. Local residents should expect to see empty paper grocery bags in their mailboxes soon. In order to participate, all that residents need to do is fill the bags with nonperishable food items and leave them next to their mailboxes on Saturday. As mail carriers traverse their routes, they will retrieve the bags full of food. The food products will then be distributed Saturday afternoon to local food pantries. Recommended donations include canned vegetables and fruit, canned meat products, rice and dried beans, or other similar nonperishable items.
