Champaign Hotel Ventures, current owner and operator of the Hampton Inn in Lincoln, has announced the acquisition of the Holiday Inn Express of Lincoln. The Holiday Inn Express offers 69 guest rooms/suites and employs approximately 20 full- and part-time associates. Damon Priddy, general manager of Hampton Inn – Lincoln, will manage both Lincoln properties.

According to the National Weather Service, confidence is high that the next five days or so in Logan County are going to be dangerously cold.

Snow is expected to move into the area tonight and last into Sunday, with accumulations of 8 inches or more.

Monday's high is predicted to be -6 degrees. Wind chill factors will be in the negative double digits.

Please remember to look out for one another. If you have elderly neighbors, don't be afraid to check on them and show them you care.

Also, this will not be a good time for outdoor pets. Please consider allowing pets to come inside, out of the frigid temperatures.

A report from the Los Angeles County coroner has announced that no drugs or alcohol were found in the bodies of "Fast & Furious" actor Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas after the fiery car crash that killed them both on Nov. 30, 2013. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department determined that the vehicle was traveling in excess 110 mph at the time of the crash.
