The last time the
Mount Pulaski Hilltoppers won a regional championship was 1999, but they did it
again this weekend! As Teena Lowery mentions in an article below, in 1999
most of this year's team were toddlers. At the end of the Friday game, the kids,
their coaches and the fans were overjoyed by their accomplishment.
Congratulations, Toppers! We are all proud of you!

We're taking a break from the snow
pile today to bring you something more
"entertaining." The students in the West
Lincoln-Broadwell eighth-grade art class were
responsible for the art in City Hall in Lincoln in
February. They do a class in papier-mâché each year and make puppets. They then put on a
puppet show for the entire school. The project
takes weeks of preparation and teaches students a
variety of lessons, including time management,
patience, group work skills, and how to plan and
achieve long-term goals. LDN ran the first set
of puppets as a top picture in our Community section
on Jan. 30.
