One
polling place in Logan County is located at the Lincoln Christian Church. On
Tuesday, judges there told LDN that they were pleasantly surprised by the voter
turnout in that particular precinct, and had been consistently busy all day
long. Some felt this was the best turnout they have seen in recent years.
However, final numbers from the Logan County website indicate that less than
half of the registered voters in Logan County went to the polls. While there
were no contested local races in this election, the race for the Illinois
Governor and other State officials has been a heated one this year. Late
afternoon reports Tuesday were indicating the governor's race could be one of
the closest ever in the state of Illinois.
