Today,
on the 150th anniversary of his death, we remember
Abraham Lincoln, an honorable man who as our 16th
President kept our young nation from dividing and
brought greater awareness of equality between all
men.
Sacha Newley’s painting of Abraham Lincoln with the
Gettysburg Address integrated hangs in the Lincoln
Heritage Museum at Lincoln College.
On Nov. 19, 1863, President Lincoln spoke for under
two minutes at the dedication of the Soldiers
National Cemetery in Gettysburg, a place for
soldiers that lost their lives in the Civil War
battle. The illustrative power of that Address has
made it one of the most noted and memorized pieces
of literature in American history.
