This
Friday at 10 a.m. the public is invited to come to
the Palms Grill in Atlanta for the presentation of
their "Delicious Destination" certificate, as
presented by the Illinois Office of Tourism. The
certificate program is aimed at recognizing
extraordinary restaurants that are authentically
Illinois, attracting visitors and locals to state’s
diverse communities. The Palms connection to the
Route 66 Mother Road, its rich contribution to local
history, and its well-known Blue Plate Specials are
just a part of what has earned the grill this
recognition.

Steve
Hayes is truly "living the dream." His oldest daughter,
Alec (left), is currently a senior on the Mount Pulaski
High School girls basketball team and his youngest
daughter, Skylar (right), is just coming off a second
place finish in the state tournament as an eighth-grader
on the Mount Pulaski Grade School girls basketball team.
Hayes has had the pleasure of not only coaching both
daughters but also experiencing those proud dad moments
in a special way. Today LDN offers a special look at the
coach/father, his daughters, and the bond they share
with mom’s support through basketball.
