Work has begun at Fifth Street Food Mart for a new building which will be immediately adjacent to the Food Mart. The building according to sources will have a different address and be a separate entity from the Food Mart so it may be licensed for liquor and video gaming. In May of 2014 Fifth Street Food Mart owner Cliff McCumber approached the Lincoln Liquor Commission seeking the creation of a pour license in the city so he could bring video gaming into his convenience store. The commission recommended the license to the city, but city aldermen voted it down. While McCumber could not get a license for his existing store, the creation of a separate business next door to his store allowed him to obtain a different license.

Lincoln Junior High School has announced its Students of the Month for October, November and December, 2015.

Students of the Month for October were: sixth-grader Sailym Reid, seventh-grader Kyle Fry and eighth-grader Hannah Hartman.

Students of the month for November were: sixth-grader Ryen Stoltzenburg, seventh-grader Annagrace Keller and eighth-grader Katherine Lewis.

Students of the Month for December were: sixth-grader Abby Smith, seventh-grader Evan Spellman and eighth-grader Alexis Erb.

The Lincoln Elks Lodge 914 held the local Hoop Shoot in December.
